Clarissa is unsure about what she wants to write about for her final essay. She knows she wants it to be educational and related to those seen as less than human, but doesn't know how to properly approach the subject as someone outside of the community.

Upon meeting Amanita, she decides to start working to provide better care and services to the creatures GRAN GRAN (her X grandmother) brought into the world. She carries an immense guilt for what her grandmother has caused and begins nterviewing and spending time with those who have been affected. Clarissa hopes to shed light on their anatomy and lifestyles by publishing her interviews and knowledge about these people.

She is a very studious and hardworking student. Due to her focus on keeping her grades up and staying on top of her school work, she isn't very social. As such she doesn't have a lot of friends. She spends her freetime in the tutoring center hoping to help other students improve their grades and practice her social skills.
